About Buyer and System Invitations

If K2 Sourcing Contacts You, Take Advantage of the Free Sales Lead

If you received an email, phone call, or invitation from K2 Sourcing, it may be tied to a real buyer request for your products or services.

K2 Sourcing works with companies that are actively sourcing suppliers through RFPs, RFQs, reverse auctions, supplier discovery projects, and other procurement events. When one of our project managers contacts your company, it usually means your business was identified through client referral, supplier research, prior sourcing work, or publicly available business information.

Many B2B suppliers spend significant sales and marketing dollars to generate qualified leads. Published B2B cost per lead benchmarks vary widely by industry, channel, and lead quality, with many reports showing leads can range from roughly $80 to several hundred dollars per lead.

When a buyer or K2 Sourcing invites your company to participate in a sourcing event, you are receiving a potential sales opportunity at no cost to access the buyer invitation.

K2 Sourcing does not charge suppliers a fee to access the supplier login or review a buyer invitation. If any supplier participation fee, success fee, or award based fee applies to a specific sourcing event, it will be clearly stated in the RFP or buyer request documents before you respond.

You are not required to sign a software agreement to access the supplier login. You are also not required to share personal information or business information you do not choose to provide.

If the opportunity is a fit, responding is a great way to show the buyer that your company is engaged, responsive, and interested in earning their business.

Why Respond to a Buyer Invitation?

A buyer invitation through K2 Sourcing is different from a general supplier directory listing. The buyer is actively reviewing suppliers for a specific business need.

By responding, your company can increase visibility with an active buyer, show that your team is responsive and easy to work with, review the buyer’s requirements, decide whether the opportunity is a fit, submit information or pricing, ask questions, and be considered for current or future sourcing opportunities.

Responding does not guarantee an award of business. However, it gives your company the opportunity to be reviewed by the buyer and demonstrate interest in the project.

How the Invitation Process Works

If a buyer invites your company through the K2 Sourcing system, the email will come from no-reply@k2sourcing.com and will include instructions for accessing the opportunity.

To respond to the invitation, open the buyer invitation email from no-reply@k2sourcing.com and click the button or link provided in the email to access the supplier login page.

You can also go directly to:

https://requests.k2sourcing.com/supplier_signin.php

Enter your email address. Then select the account ID from the dropdown that matches the account ID provided in your invitation email. Next, enter your password. If you are prompted to create an account, you will be able to set your own password.

After entering your password, a verification code will be emailed to you. Return to the website and enter the verification code to complete the login process.

Once you are logged in, review the steps listed for the request. Most requests include deadlines, instructions, buyer requirements, documents, questions, pricing forms, or other information needed to respond. Click each step in order and complete the requested items.

You can also click the help area after logging in for additional instructions.

What If a K2 Sourcing Project Manager Contacts Me Directly?

K2 Sourcing may also contact suppliers directly before a formal system invitation is sent. This often happens when we are helping a buyer identify the right sales contact, confirm supplier capabilities, or determine whether your company may be a fit for a specific sourcing event.

If you receive an email from an address ending in @k2sourcing.com, the message may be related to a real buyer opportunity. We recommend reviewing the message and responding if the opportunity appears relevant to your business.

You can always confirm that the outreach is legitimate by contacting K2 Sourcing support.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to participate?

K2 Sourcing does not charge suppliers a fee to access the supplier login or review a buyer invitation.

In most buyer invited sourcing events, there is no supplier participation fee from K2 Sourcing. If any supplier participation fee, success fee, or award based fee applies to a specific sourcing event, it will be clearly stated in the RFP or buyer request documents before you respond.

Is this a real sales opportunity?

Yes. In many cases, K2 Sourcing is contacting you because a buyer is actively looking for suppliers. Your company may have been identified through client referral, supplier research, prior sourcing work, or publicly available business information.

Am I required to sign a software agreement?

No. K2 Sourcing does not require invited suppliers to sign a software agreement to access the supplier login or review a buyer invitation.

Am I required to share personal information?

No. You are not required to share personal information or business information that you do not choose to provide. You should only submit information requested for the sourcing opportunity if you are comfortable doing so.

Does responding guarantee that we will win the business?

No. Responding is a great way to show the buyer that your company is engaged and willing to work with them, but it does not guarantee an award of business.

Buyers may evaluate many factors, including price, capability, quality, service, location, capacity, timing, and overall fit. Some buyers may also make final award decisions outside of the K2 Sourcing system.

Can I reach other K2 Sourcing customers?

Other K2 Sourcing customers may invite you through the system if your company is a fit for their sourcing needs. K2 Sourcing does not provide open access to customer lists.

Suppliers may also optionally register in the K2 Sourcing supplier database to be considered for future opportunities. Registration does not guarantee that you will be invited to future sourcing events, but it can help K2 Sourcing identify your company when a relevant buyer need arises.

Can K2 Sourcing provide more information about the customer?

No. K2 Sourcing cannot release customer information to suppliers unless the buyer chooses to share that information as part of the sourcing process.

Can K2 Sourcing tell me which other suppliers are participating?

No. K2 Sourcing will not share the names of other participating suppliers or the level of competition in a sourcing event.

What if I am prompted to create an account?

If you are prompted to create an account, follow the instructions on the login page. You will enter your email address, select the account ID from your invitation, and create your own password. You may also receive a verification code by email to complete the login process.

How do I know if the invitation link is safe?

Formal system invitations from K2 Sourcing come from no-reply@k2sourcing.com. You may also receive outreach from a K2 Sourcing project manager using an email address ending in @k2sourcing.com.

The invitation email may include a secure, event specific link that connects your company to the correct buyer request. This link may contain technical routing details or a unique code. That is normal for system generated sourcing invitations.

Messages from no-reply@k2sourcing.com are related to buyer invitations and sourcing events. We recommend adding K2 Sourcing to your safe contacts list so you do not miss buyer opportunities.

If you are unsure whether an invitation is legitimate, contact K2 Sourcing support before clicking links or submitting information.

Why does the invitation link look different when I click it?

K2 Sourcing uses secure, event specific links to connect invited suppliers to the correct buyer request. When you click the invitation button or link, it may include a unique code that routes you to the correct sourcing project.

K2 Sourcing also uses a third party email delivery provider to help send system generated invitations reliably. Because of this, you may see technical link details in your browser or email security preview before reaching the K2 Sourcing supplier login page.

If you are unsure whether an invitation is legitimate, do not enter information until you verify the request with K2 Sourcing support.

If a specific buyer request includes a supplier participation fee, success fee, or award based fee, that information will be clearly stated in the RFP or buyer request documents. If anyone asks you to pay outside of the stated sourcing process, please contact K2 Sourcing support to verify the communication.
